After a first deposit, the code can still be entered for 7 days.

You already have a Wealthsimple account
The bonus is for new clients. An account opened more than 7 days before the first deposit rules it out.

You are not a legal resident of Canada
The promotion is limited to residents of Canada who are of the age of majority.

Your deposit comes from another Wealthsimple account
Only money from a bank or another institution counts toward the $100.

You cannot leave the bonus for 180 days
Withdrawn earlier, it may be deducted from your withdrawal or recovered.

You are the secondary holder of a joint account
Only the primary account holder can receive the bonus.

I receive a bonus
When someone uses my code and meets the terms, Wealthsimple pays me $25. According to its help centre, the referrer may also receive an additional bonus based on the amount deposited.

Where do I enter the referral code?
In the Wealthsimple app, tap the gift icon at the top of the Home page, then the "Invite friends" tab and "Enter referral code". On the web, the gift icon is at the bottom left of the Home page. A "Referral code applied" message confirms it.
I already opened my account. Is it too late?
If your first deposit was less than 7 days ago, you can still enter the code. After that, Wealthsimple support may link the referral manually, with no guarantee after 30 days.
Which deposits count toward the $100?
A deposit from your bank account, a transfer from another investment institution, or a crypto transfer from an external wallet. Transfers between your Wealthsimple accounts, peer-to-peer transfers and bonuses do not count.
When does the bonus arrive?
Within 24 hours of the qualifying deposit, in your Wealthsimple chequing account. If you do not have one yet, you have 90 days after the notice to open it, or the bonus expires.
Is the bonus taxable?
According to Wealthsimple, bonuses of this kind usually have tax implications, and no tax slip is issued for a bonus paid into a non-registered account. For your own case, consult an accountant or a tax professional.
Does the code I choose change the amount?
The base bonus is set by Wealthsimple and stays the same whatever code you enter. With mine, I am the one who receives the bonus paid to the referrer.
